SurvivorCampSurvivor Camp
The Yelm Police Department started the Survivor Summer Camp in 2000 and has seen over 800 area youth attend. The camp is held the first week of August and is free for the first 75 participants. The camp is open to all area youth entering the 6th through 12th grade. The camp runs from 9:00 AM to Noon Monday through Friday and involves games that also serve as excercise to get kids off the couch and see friends. The camp is run by Chief Todd Stancil. Application forms are provided to local schools and are available at the Police Department beginning in June of every year. Camp participants are treated to a BBQ lunch on the last day and a camp t-shirt.
